Function Description

The DCPS is the main power source of the system. It converts the input AC mains power to a regulated DC voltage around 1000VDC. This DC Voltage is used to charge the Switch Unit. An external trigger pulse enters the modulator, gating all the Solid State Switches in the Switch Unit and discharge some of the stored energy until the end of the pulse. This produce primary pulse to the Pulse. Transformer, which amplifies the voltage to the right level at the Load (i.e Klystron, Magnetron, E-gun, PEF-load etc).  All parts of the modulator are located inside a common enclosure, but only the pulse transformer and the load HV-interface are surrounded by transformer oil inside a sealed tank. The DCPS, Switching Modules and Control interface are all in air.
